Happiness!

(4)
A presentation of what makes people happy - some truths/facts about happiness, things to do to make you happy, a video about what it is to be happy and an activity where students write their own joke and the top rated joke is put on the classroom wall. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Human Rights introduction

(1)
Introduction into watching Hotel Rwanda on DVD. Students work out which human rights are applicable to them in school as well as viewing some of the more viewable pictures from Rwanda in 1994. There is a link to the BBC website with a compilation of news audio clips from 1994.

Budget 2013 - Could you be the Chancellor?

(1)
A range of activities for my Year 8 form to teach them about what the Chancellor does, what are his responsibilities, and for students to work out what they would rank as the most important area for investment to be made e.g. health, education, transport, housing etc. Students then have the chance to work out how much of the budget they would spend on different areas, what the effects of cuts would be and to see the sharing of England's revenue for the 2012 Budget.

Target Setting

Helpful for creating achievable, challenging and measurable targets. Rather than saying 'I want to learn how to play the guitar', for example, you could change it to 'I want to learn how to play a C major scale without hesitation by the 10th of November' for example. Any feedback would be great, thanks!
